The Salmen girls basketball team defeated district opponent Franklinton, 73-42.

Kalani Brown scored 22 points and Megan Brown had 15 for Salmen.

The Lady Spartans are 4-0 in district and 20-2 overall.

The Pope John Paul Lady Jaguars lost to Northlake Christian in a district game, 40-19. PJP?is 1-9 overall.

For Pope John Paul, Allison Hartmann scored 12 points.

The Slidell Lady Tigers fell in a tough game against Covington, a district opponent, 59-41. SHS’ leading scorer Lauren West, a freshman, scored 17 points, while Angel Nikolas chipped in with 11.

Slidell is 7-16 overall now.

The Pearl River Lady Rebels took a loss from Lakeshore, 42-39 in a District 6-4A game.

The Lady Rebels are now 7-10 overall and 0-5 in league play.

The Northshore Lady Panthers played Ponchtoula and took the loss, 68-38. The loss put NHS at 9-9 overall and 3-4 in district.

The Northshore boys basketball team is in first place of District 7-5A with a 6-1 record. The Panthers will play Covington at home on Thursday.

The Slidell Tigers boys basketball team beat Covington, 73-46 in last week’s district contest.

The victory puts SHS at 11-7 overall and 6-3 in district.

In a league competition that had Pearl River and Hammond facing off, the Tornadoes won, 69-40. Pearl River is now 3-13 overall and 0-4 in District 6-4A.

The Pope John Paul Jaguars defeated Northlake Christian in a nailbiter of a game. PJP?won 43-41 to improve its record to 9-9 overall and 4-5 in district.

In the win, Joe Feraci scored 19 points, and Sean Bruhn had 16.
