Senior forward Roschon Prince of Long Beach Poly has been selected the Gatorade state player of the year in boys' basketball.
The 6-foot-6 Prince, a USC signee, averaged 20.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Jackrabbits (28-4).
"Roschon Prince was the player who really made us go," Coach Sharrief Metoyer said in a statement. "He does so many things on the court to help the team win."
He's the second Poly player to win the award. Ryan Anderson took the same honor during the 2010-11 season.
