Day 136: The Blazers and The Texas Twosome - Fantasy Basketball ...

Line of the Night: With LaMarcus Aldridge leading the way with 22 points, 6-6 from the line, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks (2.13 WARP), the Blazers climbed to within 3 games of the last playoff spot (currently owned by a Kobe-less Lakers team). Damian Lillard wasn’t far behind his teammate with his 26 points, 11-18 from the field, 4 threes, 10 assists, and 2 steals (1.90 WARP), and Nicolas Batum delivered a good game with 16 points, 6-10 from the field, 4 threes, 6 assists, and 2 steals (1.16 WARP). Of course, they were playing a Knicks team who was without Carmelo Anthony or Tyson Chandler. Anyone still working with J.R. Smith had got to be pretty happy about the situation though, as Smith went off for 33 points, with 4 threes (0.50 WARP).

Honorable Mentions: There were only two games last night, so it makes sense that the other Honorable Mentions would be the two guys holding their Texas Teams Together… Dirk Nowitzki had 21 points, 6-6 from the line, 3 threes, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals (2.05 WARP) while Tim Duncan had a lower WARP despite his 28 points, 12-20 from the field, and 19 rebounds (1.55 WARP). For the record, the Spurs won and clinched a playoff spot. So, besides the race for the bottom of the West, the only other thing left this season is to see how many more games Miami can win in a row.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Jae Crowder (1% owned) went 2-3 for 5 points with 4 rebounds, 2 asssits, and 2 blocks (0.57 WARP) and I guess somehow that’s good enough for WWLotN… Yeah… Let’s see if we can find anything else…

Pick Up Lines: Gary Neal (5% owned) came off the bench for 16 points (0.45 WARP) because the second-year man Cory Joseph only played 13 minutes for the Spurs. With Danny Green as a Biggest Loser candidate last night, does it seem like Tim Duncan could beat a lot of teams by himself? Ginobili didn’t do a whole lot to help either…

Kurt Thomas (1% owned) could have some value with his 6 points, and 7 rebounds (0.40 WARP), but it’s probably only for deeper leagues, and only while Tyson Chandler is out, and it’s just a bruised knee, so that’s not more than a day-to-day thing…

Kenyon Martin (1% owned) started for the Knicks and scored 12 points, on 6-10 from the field (0.40 WARP). He is another guy who might be worth owning depending on how long Carmelo is out. The Knicks are looking pretty thin up front without Carmelo, Amare, or Chandler… I mean, the forced Marcus Camby to play 19 minutes (and he had 8 points and 10 rebounds!).

Brandan Wright (3% owned) keeps trying to tempt us with lines like 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks (0.22 WARP), which, granted, isn’t all that tempted, but when you look at what’s out there right now, it seems pretty good.

Biggest Loser: Jason Kidd played 34 minutes off the bench but ended up with only 3 points (1-8 from the field), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 turnovers (-0.86 WARP).
