York Dispatch Staff Report

Two former York-Adams League girls’ basketball players have earned major honors from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Central York High School graduate Aurielle Mosley has been selected the PSAC East Division Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Year, while York High graduate Aignee Freeland has been picked the PSAC West Division Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Year.

Mosley is second in the league in scoring with 15.4 points per game while also contributing 9.7 rebounds a contest. The 6-foot, 2-inch senior forward for Millersville University recently broke the Marauder rebounding record with 1,012 boards. She also has the school record for blocked shots (244) and is fifth on the all-time school list in points scored (1,414).

For the third straight season, Mosley has led her squad in scoring and rebounding, while also leading her team during 2012-13 in blocks with 66, good for third in the league. With her first team all-conference selection, Mosley is a three-time first team honoree.

Mosley has led Millersville to a 21-7 overall record. The Marauders have advanced to the PSAC semifinals against Gannon at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Bloomsburg. During her four years at Millersville, Mosley has helped the Marauders to an 84-31 overall record.

Freeland has enjoyed a standout first season at Edinboro University. The 6-foot, 3-inch forward leads the Fighting Scots in rebounding at 7.8 per contest. She also is shooting a team-best .519 from the field and averaging just more than seven points per outing. She was second on the team with 33 blocks.

Freeland has helped Edinboro to a 22-5 record this season. The Scots will take on Bloomsburg at Bloomsburg in a PSAC semifinal contest at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
