The excitement begins on TNT TV at 8PM Eastern Time as the Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to face the New York Knicks. The Thunder are chasing the San Antonio Spurs for the top seed in the Western conference as they trail by 2 ½ games entering Tuesday’s action. Kevin Durant for the Thunder has had another great year by averaging over 28 points a game and nearly 8 rebounds. New addition Kevin Martin has contributed with over 14 points per contest but still many believed the Thunder may have mistaken by adding Martin and trading James Harden. Martin on the defensive end has not been too impressive as he seems to want to avoid contact with opposing players. That creates a little too much space on the court and puts the Thunder’s big men prone to foul trouble. We saw OKC drop both contests with Miami this season and the addition of Martin may have set them back a bit. New York is in a difficult spot here playing on a back to back and playing their fourth game in five nights. Carmelo Anthony is day to day with a knee injury that forced him out of Monday’s game at Cleveland.
Game two of the TNT TV NBA doubleheader has a start time of 10:30PM Eastern Time as Chris Paul will lead the LA Clippers into the Mile High to face the Denver Nuggets. LA Clippers will be on a back to back on Thursday night after facing the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. Point guard Chris Paul has averaged 16 points and 9 ½ assists this season and is making 47.3% of his shots. The Denver Nuggets are always tough to beat on their home court. It is another ideal situation for Denver playing a home game with rest while a visiting team is playing a back to back in the high altitude.
