The Wales Kingikmiut school will be hosting a Ski Meet on April 12th. There will also be a Little Dribblers Basketball Tournament being held that same weekend, it will be placed at the Wales Kingikmiut school gym.
The competing teams will be flying in on 11th and some may be flying in on the 12th if the weather is bad the day before. Shishmaref, Diomede, Teller, and Gambell want to come to compete also. They will try and make it here for the tournament.
During the Basketball Tourney there will also be a ski tournament before basketball. They will be skiing out on the ice during the day. After dinner they will be playing basketball and competing against each other.
The Wales Kingikmiut School is hosting the tournaments because there haven’t been any events going on in this town, and they’d like for the Kingikmiut students parents to watch their kids compete. It is always exciting.
