Reaching the championship game is sometimes ideal for a team, winning one is even more so. The women’s basketball team competed in district play this past week at Pleasant Hill.

The Wildcats had a one game bye so they did not play until Friday, March 1. The team faced the Oak Grove Panthers and moved forward with a score of 52-44. This placed to women’s team in the championship game against Pleasant Hill on Saturday, March 2.

The third time was not the charm for the women’s basketball team as they lost the championship game 33-49 against the chicks. With the season over now the Wildcats look back at a season with 17 victories and only 9 losses.

With the season over, Head Coach Mark Rorvig looks back at his favorite memory of the women’s journey.

“My favorite memory was probably our game at Grain Valley. We got down quite a bit early, but fought back and hit a game winning shot towards the end. The kids were so excited…it was really special to see them that happy and excited about the win,” said Rorvig.
