Boys basketball: Putnam 61, Liberty 56 | OregonLive.com


MILWAUKIE – Senior Throstur Kristensson and juniors Calvin Spencer and Drew O'Dell scored 14 points each to lead Putnam to a 61-56 comeback win over Liberty on Friday in a Northwest Oregon Conference boys basketball game at Putnam High School.


After trailing 50-40 at the end of three quarters, the Kingsmen opened the fourth quarter on a 13-4 run to pull within 54-53. The run was fueled by three three-pointers – including two banked-in threes – by O'Dell, whose 14 points was a season-high.


Putnam ended the game on an 8-0 run, taking the lead for good on Bryant Brown's jumper that made it 57-56 with 2:53 to play. Senior Devin Hager added 11 points for the Kingsmen (2-12, 2-4 NWOC), who have two of their last three games after opening the season 0-11.


Senior post Aaron Holman scored a game-high 16 points and freshman Blake Walker added 11 points to lead Liberty (7-9, 1-5 NWOC). Walker made three three-pointers for the Falcons.


Liberty remains on the road to play at St. Helens on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
