The Mountain West Championship will tip off from the Thomas and Mack Center at 6PM Eastern Time over CBS TV. The Final Four teams entering Friday night were Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown and Notre Dame. The Cardinals got off to an impressive start by crushing the bubble team Villanova Wildcats by 19 points in the quarterfinal round on Thursday night. Syracuse posted an upset win on Thursday against Pittsburgh in their quarterfinal meeting. Georgetown just quietly goes about its business in the Big East without getting much notoriety and respect. In their quarterfinal game the Hoyas beat Cincinnati by 19 points. Notre Dame like Syracuse was forced to play in the second round and if they advance to the final will be playing their fourth game in four nights.
Late night Saturday at 11PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV it will be the PAC 12 championship game. The Final Four from the PAC 12 conference are UCLA, Arizona, Utah and Oregon. Utah pulled off the major upset win in their quarterfinal 79-69 victory against the California Golden Bears. UCLA got a major scare from Arizona St in their quarterfinal win as the Bruins were forced to claw back from a second half 15 point deficit.
