In a rematch of last year’s final four match up the Mt. SAC women’s basketball team will face Fresno City College this Friday at Cosumnes River College at 5 pm.

The Mounties (32-0) are currently ridding a 38 game win streak dating back to last season and have continued their dominance into the playoffs beating all three of their playoff adversaries by an average of 16.33 points.

The stellar play by the teams sophomores have helped the Mounties continue their quest for a consecutive state championship. Sophomore guard Morgan Mason has led the way for the Mounties scoring 17 points per game during the playoffs and shooting over 52.94%. Center Ashley Burchfield is also averaging 13.66 point per game and is one of the teams leading rebounders averaging 9.66 in the playoffs.

Mt. SAC defeated San Bernardino Valley College this past Saturday 59-53 to win one of the two southern region brackets. Mt. San Jacinto College won the other bracket.

Contributions from leading rebounder Forward Shawlina Segovia, guard Leticia Galarza, Rachell Williams, and Ashley Carter who has scored 10 and 12 points in her last two outings have also helped catapult the Mounties into another final-four appearance.

If Mt. SAC plans to walk away from Sacramento with another state title in hand they will first have to get by a stiff Fresno City College (30-3) team that has been rolling through its opponents winning by an average of 20.66 points in the playoffs. Fresno is currently on a 22 game win streak.

The Rams are led by Guard Madison Parish who is coming of a 23 point performance in her team’s win over Sierra 83-70 and 34 points in the Rams third round win against Merced.

The game will be streamed online through www.Webcast50.com
