Over winter break, the varsity girls and boys basketball teams hosted a Tiger basketball junior training camp for kids in elementary and middle schools to fundraise for their programs. The camp was held in Moeller gym on January 3 and 4, from 12p.m. to 3p.m.
The cost was $30 for each player and about 127 kids signed up for the camp, which raised approximately $4,000. This was the first time that a basketball camp was set up at RHS.
Junior Lindsay Anderson was one of the coaches at the camp.
“We taught basic skills about basketball,” said Anderson.
Senior Roman Tyukayev was also one of the coaches at the camp.
“We taught the fundamentals of basketball,” said Tyukayev.
JV girls basketball coach Josh Errecart was satisfied with the outcome of the camp.
“It was a great camp and we look forward to hosting another one this summer,” said Errecart.
