Duke basketball assistant coach Chris Collins interviews with ...

Longtime Duke basketball associate head coach Chris Collins was away from Durham last night, as he was interviewing for the head coaching gig at Northwestern. The Wildcats fired their head coach Bill Carmody earlier this month after a 13-year stay at the helm of the program.

Stephen Wiseman of the Herald-Sun spread the news of Collins’ interview via twitter.

The Chicago Tribune’s Teddy Greenstein shed more light on the interview itself.

Collins has been an assistant with Duke since 2000. He is expected back with the Blue Devils today to help plan for the team’s Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan State this Friday.
