Among the five losses suffered by the Jayhawks’ basketball team this season is one especially surprising defeat.
The Kansas basketball team, which finished 14-4 in Big 12 play, lost to TCU, 62-55, on Feb. 6. The Horned Frogs would go on to win a total of two games in conference play.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Mac Engel said the game will forever be remembered as one of the biggest upsets in the history of college basketball, as well as one of its ugliest.
“We beat the No. 5 team in the nation; I don’t think TCU had ever done that,” TCU senior Garlon Green said Wednesday, according to Engel. “It was the fact that it was Kansas and the basketball capital of the world that made it pretty special.”
