To say that West Hills Chaminade Coach Todd Wolfson is superstitious would be an understatement.
Since he forgot his tie for a game against Harvard-Westlake in Mission League play and the team won, Wolfson hasn't worn a tie since. The Eagles are on a nine-game winning streak. The team also has been eating the same pregame meal of meat lasagna and salad during the winning streak.
So get ready for meat lasagna and salad for breakfast on Saturday morning before the Eagles face St. John Bosco in the Southern Section 3A championship game at 10 a.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center.
"As long as I don't bring a tie, we should be all right," Wolfson said.
Chaminade is the school known for its enthusiastic student section, called The Cage. Wolfson is arranging "a huge breakfast" for students before they get on rooter buses for Anaheim on Saturday morning.
But one student told Wolfson, "I don't care if it's 2 in the morning, we'll be there."
