For the first time ever, Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s (RIIL) Boys Open Basketball Tournament games will air live for fans in Rhode Island and across the country.
Games will air on both OSN – channels 5 and 1005, exclusive to Cox Communications customers – and coxsportsonline.com, which will provide streaming video, accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection. OSN is a partnership between WJAR/NBC 10 and Cox.
“The Boys Open Basketball tournament is one of the best annual sports events in the state, and we’re proud to partner with the RIIL in presenting live coverage to our customers,” said John Wolfe, senior vice president and general manager, Cox Communications Northeast. “Additionally, by providing streaming online video, we’ve made it possible for friends and family across the country to cheer on their teams.”
“NBC 10 News has always been strongly committed to covering Rhode Island high school sports,” said Vic Vetters, general manager at WJAR/NBC 10. “Fans can catch our sports coverage throughout the day on OSN, where they’ll see scores and highlights from all the local RIIL action.”
